Today Pitchfork released our new Male Bonding music video. My friend Vice Cooler directed it, I shot about 90% of it, and Rich AKA Who Ate My Teeth put it all together like so.

Laika is famous

Laika, my best buddy, has her portrait in an art show called UNLEASHED, this Saturday only at Synchronicity in Hollywood, CA. As seen here, it depicts Laika hard at work on one of her best pieces we did together for the Lkeg benefit. The best part is that if it sells, the money goes to charities for dogs and we get to pick the charity, so start suggesting. The print is 16"x24", matte, and priced at $100. One of a kind!!

I just finished directing/shooting this crazy music video with the band SCANNERS from London. The song's called "We Never Close Our Eyes", I shot almost the whole thing myself, handheld on the 7D, and there are a few monsters, creepy vibes, and punchlines. We had a lot of fun and put it together with no money and no time.

LKEG benefit in my backyard

My friends Leticia and Walt had been doing L'KEG gallery in Echo Park for a while and I got used to going there to hang out with friends at their art/music/film/poetry shows. They offered me to curate a show called "Death Leopard", and I was exited to do it and be involved but then their neighbor had a fire and it damaged some of the gallery and their equipment. So now it's temporarily closed and Death Leopard has been pushed til May.
In the meantime I figured I'd get all those friends back together and try to generate a few bucks for the cause. If nothing else it'll be fun, it's in my backyard, and you can bring your dog to meet mine.

IT'S 2010, PEOPLE! It's been just about a year since I started this blog as a place to put my photos and videos (that quite honestly are not being published or printed in any literal form like I had imagined. Except for that one Mika Miko show at the Smell where my photos got stolen off the wall... )

Regardless, I'd like to think there's been some good stuff, and maybe some other stuff that's worth glancing at.  New year, new photos.

Ok, it's been sort of a secret while it was in development, but now that I'm onto my third episode, I can tell you all about my new show EATS!. But I won't. Instead you get this glimpse til everythings all touched up. I'm trying to start 2010 off right with a slate of new projects, all in post.

Drewcifer can levitate

I just got back from Tampa Bay, FL . It was really nice spending time with my friends & family.

I got an idea by listening to a Yip Yip song, and shot a trick-photography based project involving levitation, telekinesis, theft and basketball, starring Drew Roth .

I'll be editing this together for fun over the next week or so and premiering it here on Brain Sheer. Stay tuned.

NYC, No Age, and October

I started a brand new blog: BEHIND THE SLIME

October is one of my favorite months. Probably because of Halloween and Autumn. These days October seems to be a very productive month. Everybody I talked to had cool stuff going on. I was like "damn". So I tagged along with No Age to a few events, chatted with Spike Jonze and Ed Templeton briefly, and am now developing a pilot episode of a web show. It's top secret, I can't say any more for now but here's a few glimpses of my October.

Last nite L'Keg Gallery held their film fest, featuring my videos for Mika Miko and BlackBlack, as well as some stuff from Michael Reich and others.
